Manwood (d. 1610) legal writer, a member of Lincoln's Inn, abarrister and gamekeeper of Waltham Forest, as well asjustice of the New Forest. In 1592 he wrote this treatisefor private circulation finally publishing in 1598 anexpanded edition. This 1615 edition, the second published,is expanded with much materials not in others. It is theclassic treatise on the forest laws in England at its time.
