Hein’s Electronic Document Reprint Series – Title #31

On December 7, 2006, at the direction of senior Department of Justice officials, seven U.S. Attorneys were told to resign from their positions. Two other U.S. Attorneys had been told to resign earlier in the year. In 2007, the Office of the Inspector General and the Office of Professional Responsibility conducted a joint investigation into the removal of the nine attorneys. At the conclusion of their investigation, the OIG and the OPR determined that the process used to remove the attorneys was flawed. This work describes the investigation, with a specific focus on the reasons for the removals and whether or not the removals were justifiable. This work is an excellent addition to any collection.
