William S. Hein & Co., Inc. has been serving the law library community for nearly 90 years.  Today in honor of Library Week, we take a look back at the history of the Hein Company and how it has grown to meet the changing needs of the library community.

The William S. Hein & Co., Inc, and HeinOnline  headquarters are located in Getzville, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, NY. Buffalo is home to many wonderful libraries and today we are shining a spotlight on some of our local libraries where you can find HeinOnline. Check them out below!

Buffalo & Erie County Public Library

The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library (B&ECPL) consists of a Central Library, eight branches in the City of Buffalo and twenty-two contracting member libraries which operate twenty-eight facilities outside the City of Buffalo. The libraries serve as centers of information, education, culture and entertainment for the residents of Erie County.

FUN FACT: The library has a special room completely dedicated to Mark Twain.

HeinOnline + Your Library = Unlimited Possibilities

From all of us at William S. Hein & Co., Inc. & HeinOnline, we would like to officially wish you Happy Library Week!

The theme for this year is “Unlimited Possibilities at your Library”. With the changing needs of users and how information is accessed we feel this is a very appropriate theme.

The Washington Post recently published an article on their website discussing the cultural and technological changes that come with being a librarian.

After “American Sniper” was released in theaters, numerous young men approached us for information on Navy SEALS. Legal hypochondriacs lurk in almost every library, usually wanting to know how to get divorced, but sometimes seeking legal opinions on polyamory or the age of consent.
