When the Hein Blog was launched in 2008, it primarily served as a secondary channel for communicating our weekly Hein Cites.  Hein Cites is a marketing initiative of the William S. Hein & Co. that began more than 40 years ago. Originally referred to as Newsletters in the 1960s, these announcements were printed and distributed on a weekly basis. In 2007, as an effort to become more environmentally conscious, Hein introduced an electronic version of the Hein Cites sent via email, which is the current medium used to communicate to our customers. Then in 2008 we migrated the Hein Cites to a second channel via the Hein Cites Blog.

In 2010, we underwent a minor change in our company logos. Following in the footsteps of that change, we updated our blog platform, expanded the scope of the blog, and renamed it from the Hein Cites Blog to the Hein Blog.  The Hein Blog not only features titles that are part of our Hein Cites emails, but also features new titles, new editions, reprints, new HeinOnline databases, and any special promotions that we are offering. Author Spotlight posts highlight authors’ biographical information and the story behind the creation of each author’s work.
