Challenges, Best Practices and New Opportunities for Success
National Council on Disabilities

The Americans with Disabilities Act has been a catalyst for significant progress in bringing about equality of opportunity for people with disabilities. It has spurred increased architectural accessibility, particularly in newly constructed buildings and facilities, an increase in accessible fixed-route public transportation in most locales, and readily available telecommunications services for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. This report presents the views and opinions of diverse stakeholders about ADA implementation challenges and issues, and their recommendations for improvement.
